The Tezu Warrior Carnival, a vibrant and exhilarating event, recently took place between 22 - 24 March 2024 in the heart of Arunachal Pradesh, bringing together the spirited youth from the districts of Lohit, Anjaw, Namsai, and Dibang. The event was organized by Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavna. The carnival was a true testament to the energy and enthusiasm of the young generation, saw 30 teams, each comprising 5 members, participating in a thrilling obstacle course challenge. The obstacle course comprised of 12 different obstacles ranging from Balancing beams, Beam carry to slack line & hume pipes etc. What made this event even more special was the presence of 11 all-girl teams, showcasing the strength, determination, and skill of the young women of Arunachal Pradesh.

Taksing is a border village in Upper Subansiri District of Arunachal Pradesh which is home to people of Nah Tagin Community, a Sub Tribe of one of the major Tribes of the state, Tagin. The tribe maintains and expresses their sense of joy, harmony and spiritual satiation in the form of Seju festival celebrated in the winter month of November / December every year.

Seju is an important Neo Buddhist festival of Nah people which is celebrated since times immemorial passed down through generation to generation in order to appease the god and goddesses for protection for protection against diseases, natural calamities and pray for universal wellbeing. The festival is celebrated every year for 7 days and ends on the full moon of the 10th lunar month of the Lunar Calendar.



This year the festival was celebrated with great vigour between 22 November to 28 November in which the Nah people of Taksing Circle joined hands and contributed towards a successful and peaceful celebrations. Three revered Lamas from Tawang Monastery conducted prayers at the Taksing Gompa. The festival was characterised by fun, frolic, felicity, feasting, praying and cultural performances by local artists. All men and women dressed in their traditional attire and ornaments indulged in dancing and singing. The locals sang songs and prayed to God for peace, good health, wealth, happiness and prosperity of the region. The celebration of Seju Festival at Taksing provides for a platform for creating a conducive environment towards a peaceful coexistence among people.
