Later, on 28 March 2025, Taksing followed with a 52-foot-high tricolour, accompanied by cultural performances that celebrated unity in diversity. Plans were also unveiled for a War Memorial honouring Havildar Sher-e-Thapa, the legendary ‘Saviour of Subansiri’—a tribute to courage that cements regional identity and honour.
A Firm Stand Against Foreign Fictions
These bold assertions of sovereignty come in response to China’s repeated and provocative attempts to rename locations in Arunachal Pradesh, including Taksing—a geopolitical sleight of hand soundly rejected by India. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar offered a sharp rebuke:
“If I change the name of your house, will it become mine?”
His words resonated with a nation united in its claim:
“Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always be a state of India.”
Vibrant Village Programme: Where Patriotism Meets Progress
